Butscha: This is how the residents feel a year after the liberation

In Bucha, Russians shot hundreds of civilians. One year after the liberation, the city presents itself with fresh facades. But how does it look behind?

On the first anniversary of his liberation, Butscha shows himself in new clothes. On Voksalna Street, where the Ukrainian army was able to destroy an entire column of Russian tanks, dozens of new small houses are lined up – four months ago there were only burnt-out ruins here. Despite the freezing cold, hammering, sanding and plastering is everywhere, several construction crews are asphalting the street, paving footpaths and putting up garden fences.
