Several groups raised the alarm on Tuesday about this decision. The CSU sensed a “security scandal”, while the Left warned of a “security risk”. The excitement was triggered by the news that the AfD will in future be allowed to take on one of the most important positions in parliament: the chairmanship of the interior committee. It sounded as if the other political forces had nothing to do with the personnel. In fact, however, the Bundestag itself had put itself in an extremely critical position.
