With Nübel and Mané: Bayern starts preparing for the season

One day after the desired player Harry Kane, FC Bayern also starts to prepare. Some change candidates are still there. A young professional would not be afraid of top striker Kane.

With black sneakers in hand took change candidate Sadio Mané resumes his work at Bayern Munich.

Last year’s royal transfer strolled through the main entrance to a Munich hospital, where, like Thomas Müller, Joshua Kimmich & Co., he underwent the obligatory health checks.

The goalkeepers Alexander Nübel and Yann Sommer, whose future with the German soccer champions is uncertain, began the first Bayern preparations under coach Thomas Tuchel on Thursday. The first training session on the pitch is planned for this Saturday, after which there will also be a training camp at nearby Tegernsee.

A month before the Supercup duel with DFB Cup winners RB Leipzig as the start of a competitive game, captain Manuel Neuer, who had been missing since December after breaking a lower leg, pushed ahead with his comeback efforts on the club premises. Ideally, the 37-year-old wants to be number 1 again when the Bundesliga starts on August 18 in Bremen. It is currently unclear whether this will actually work.

Asia tour without Neuer?

Likewise, whether the captain will travel to Asia beforehand on the grueling Munich advertising tour from July 24th to August 3rd. Three friendlies are scheduled there in Tokyo and Singapore, for example against Manchester City and Liverpool FC. It could make more sense that Neuer trains intensively in Munich – without long flights, time changes, extreme climate and numerous marketing appointments.

Will Mané still be on the Asian tour? The Senegalese, who was celebrated as Munich’s new world star last year, does not have a promising future at FC Bayern. According to “Kicker” he no longer plays any role in the planning for the new season. The offensive player, who was signed by Liverpool FC for 32 million euros, was never able to really meet the high expectations of him as the most important component in the Lewandowski successor. The 31-year-old is one of the top earners. Should “Africa’s Footballer of the Year” actually accept an offer from Saudi Arabia, that would increase the financial scope for other personal details.

Kane continues to be hotly sought after

After the free transfers of Konrad Laimer (26) and Raphael Guerreiro (29) and the approaching new defender Min-Jae Kim (26) from the Italian champions SSC Naples, Harry Kane remains the much sought-after transfer target for Munich. The captain of the England national team started the pre-season training at his club Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

In London, Kane, who will soon be 30, has one more season left on his contract. A presumed Munich record fee should be due in the event of a change this summer. So far, no Bayern star has been as costly as the €80m defender Lucas Hernández, who has now moved to Paris Saint-Germain. It is quite possible that Kane will be the first 100 million transfer in the history of the German record champions.

Talent Mathys Tel is not concerned about a Kane transfer. “With all due respect – he doesn’t care who’s coming this summer,” said advisor Gadiri Camara on the Sky TV channel. The 18-year-old Tel does not want to be loaned out, but wants to assert himself on the offensive in Munich in his second year.

Nübel without a future in Munich

On the other hand, goalkeeper Nübel (26) no longer sees his future at Bayern. There are said to be interested parties abroad for the goalkeeper who was last loaned to AS Monaco. Stuttgart as a career station also seems an option. Bayern will play another test match against Nübel’s former club Monaco on August 7th in the Unterhaching sports park before the Supercup showdown with Leipzig.

The perspective of ex-Gladbacher Sommer (34) depends largely on Neuer’s recovery. When the captain is fit, he is seeded. Sommer does not want to jeopardize his chances of a place in the Swiss goal at the EM 2024 in Germany by playing as a reserve player in Munich. A change to Inter Milan is therefore in the room. The Bayern bosses can only agree to that if Neuer is completely resilient and healthy.
