Nothing seems to stand in the way of Robin Gosens moving from Inter Milan to 1. FC Union Berlin. The national football player is apparently already in the capital.

The biggest transfer coup for 1. FC Union Berlin is reportedly nearing completion. As the “Bild” and the broadcaster Sky reported, there is a national soccer player Robin Gosens already in the capital.

The 29-year-old is said to have landed at BER Airport with a private plane. After that, Gosens, who reached the Champions League final with Inter Milan last season, should have a medical check-up. According to “Bild”, Gosens should then sign a contract that is valid until June 30, 2027. Union is said to pay around 15 million euros to Inter.

Record purchases for the Irons have so far been Josip Juranovic, who came from Celtic Glasgow in January 2023, and Taiwo Awoniyi, who moved from Liverpool to Berlin in the summer of 2021 and now plays for Nottingham Forest. According to media reports, both cost around 8.5 million euros each at the time.

Gosens before Bundesliga debut

For Gosens, the Bundesliga dream would come true. In his unusual career, the Rhinelander switched from Heracles Almelo in the Netherlands to Atalanta Bergamo in 2017. A boost in performance followed in Serie A, which led him to the national team and also to Inter.

There, however, he was only a supplementary player, as was the case in the Champions League final, which Inter lost 1-0 to Manchester City. The move to Union should bring more playing time and increase the chances of the 16-time national player participating in the European Championship next summer. With Union he will also compete in the Champions League.
