RB Leipzig threatens to fall behind in the fight for the Champions League places. In the 1:2 loss in Munich they threw away points again. The coach immediately shuts down a goalkeeper discussion.

Trainer After RB Leipzig’s defeat in the top game at FC Bayern Munich, Marco Rose was annoyed about further lost points in the fight for renewed Champions League qualification. “It’s not the first time in the season that we’ve thrown away points,” said Rose after the 2-1 defeat at the Allianz Arena. Harry Kane’s winning goal for Bayern came in stoppage time.

“As far as the results go, it’s a little bumpy,” said Rose about the points tally. If Borussia Dortmund wins at home against TSG Hoffenheim today, the gap to fourth place could increase to four points. “We don’t have the time to complain. We have goals. We have to write again next week,” warned Rose. On the 24th matchday, the Saxons will be visiting strong home team VfL Bochum, who recently defeated Bayern 3-2 in their own stadium.

“We have enough games ahead of us, including the direct duel with Dortmund,” said midfielder Xaver Schlager with a view to participating in the premier class again. “We don’t play bad football, it’s just that the result isn’t right,” he said in Munich.

Meanwhile, Rose made a clear decision on the goalkeeper question after Janis Blaswich replaced the injured Peter Gulacsi (abdominal muscle strain) in the top game – and did it well. “We have everything but a goalkeeper discussion,” said Rose. If Gulacsi is fit again next weekend, the Hungarian will be in goal again, otherwise Blaswich again.
