In the Bundesliga, coach Julian Nagelsmann relies largely on the eleven in FC Bayern Munich’s away game at FC Augsburg, which also started in the 2-0 win against FC Barcelona in the Champions League during the week.

There are two changes in defense at the German champions on Saturday. Matthijs de Ligt replaces the injured Lucas Hernández in central defence. Noussair Mazraoui starts at right back for Benjamin Pavard, who had to be substituted against Barcelona. Newcomer Mazraoui played very well. National player Leon Goretzka plays in midfield, replacing Marcel Sabitzer. National player Serge Gnabry is again a reservist.

Bayern have not won three times in a row in the league. That should change. “Basically, it’s not easy to play in Augsburg,” said Nagelsmann before kick-off on TV channel Sky: “They often have very straightforward means of getting in front of goal. Lots of long balls.” At FCA, coach Enrico Maaßen offers the winning eleven from 1-0 in Bremen. Augsburg defeated Bayern 2-1 in their own stadium last season.
