According to Sport1, the 30-year-old should sign a three-year contract with Hessen this Tuesday until June 30, 2025. “The papers were finally negotiated yesterday,” it said. Eintracht itself has not yet commented on a possible Götze transfer. The “kicker” had also reported that the signatures should be made promptly.
Götze was absent from the opening training session at his current club PSV Eindhoven on Monday. Like two other professionals, the winning goal scorer in the 2014 World Cup final was given “the freedom to move to another club,” it said. The Dutch did not give any more details. Götze could give Eintracht’s offensive even more flexibility and play in several positions in attacking midfield and attack.
The former Dortmund and Bayern professional left the Bundesliga in 2020. The attacking player blossomed again in Eindhoven and made himself interesting for other clubs. Benfica Lisbon and Inter Miami are also said to be interested in the midfielder.
