Bundesliga: Leipzig is now second after winning in Bremen

RB Leipzig has been unbeaten in the Bundesliga for two months. Werder Bremen couldn’t do anything to change that either. But it was close.

Leipzig won 2-1 (1-0) at Werder Bremen on Saturday (November 12th, 2022). André Silva gave RB the lead in the 13th minute before Bremen’s Christian Groß (57th) equalized. For Groß it was the first goal in the 50th Bundesliga game. Xaver Schlager scored the winning goal for Leipzig (71st).

In the table, Leipzig climbs to second place for at least one night after their fourth league win in a row and is Bayern’s first pursuer with 28 points. In general, things are going well for RB, which apparently has a lot to do with coach Marco Rose. Rose has been in Leipzig for two months, and his team has won seven out of ten league games during this time and lost only once.

Newly promoted Werder Bremen ended the football year despite the defeat with 21 points in a very respectable ninth place in the table.

Leipzig asks for the top game

After the World Cup and the winter break, Leipzig will host the record champions from Munich (Friday, January 20th, 2023 at 8:30 p.m.). A day later Bremen is challenged away in Cologne (6.30 p.m.).
