Keller on rumors about Uth’s career end: “Far away from it”

Cologne’s ex-national player Mark Uth has been experiencing repeated health setbacks for almost a year and a half. There were also rumors of an end to his career. But his sports director vigorously denies this.

“We’re a long way from that,” said Keller after the 5-1 home defeat in the Bundesliga against RB Leipzig. “We will still decide whether the offensive player will fly to the training camp in Alicante,” explained Keller, but a return should certainly be in sight.

Uth only played five competitive games last season after surgery on his adductors and pubic bone inflammation. He was injured again during his comeback in August, made eight competitive appearances between October and December and has now been missing since the beginning of the year due to the injury in a friendly against Rot-Weiss Essen.
