Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham would like many top clubs to join him. A possible farewell would hurt BVB sports director Kehl and already gives him a lot of work.

Borussia Dortmund’s sports director Sebastian Kehl is preparing for a bet for BVB professional Jude Bellingham during the summer break.

“I think the race for him will pick up speed again after the season,” said Kehl on the talk show “Sky90”: “If he should go, it will probably bring us so much money in line with the market that we will end up able to say: Okay, it’s a scenario in which we’ve always found solutions in the past. That’s why we’re very relaxed at the moment.”

Very popular with top clubs

Bellingham, who is particularly popular with top clubs from his native England and Spain, does not have an exit clause and is still under contract with BVB for two years, said Kehl. According to the sports director, the midfielder should not be placed under time pressure during the decision-making process: “We have not set a deadline.”

Should the England international leave the club, “it would hurt us a lot,” Kehl admitted. The playful class and the leadership skills of the 19-year-old cannot be replaced for Dortmund, said the ex-professional, “not even with a lot of money”.

Kehl admitted that the fact that he currently has to go two ways on the transfer market because of the unclear Bellingham personnel is “not that easy, because we also have to be quick”.
