Bayern boss Oliver Kahn considers it impossible to say goodbye to club icon Thomas Müller at the end of the season.

“That won’t happen,” said the CEO of the German record champions in an interview with “Sport Bild” when asked if he would understand such an announcement by the national soccer player.

“If this were to happen, I would talk him out of it in no uncertain terms. Thomas is fit, never injured and has an incredibly strong character. He is incredibly important to the whole structure. I’m sure Thomas will still play a lot of games for us .”

In the same issue, “Sport Bild” reported that Müller could imagine saying goodbye to Munich. He is dissatisfied with his deployment times and wants to continue his professional career at a high level as planned until the summer of 2024.

The 33-year-old recently lost his place in the starting XI and was often only substituted on by coach Thomas Tuchel. Even Tuchel’s predecessor Julian Nagelsmann had done without Müller in the starting XI several times this season.
