Bundesliga: Hoffenheim beats Hertha 2-0

Status: October 29, 2021 10:22 p.m.

TSG Hoffenheim defeated Hertha BSC at home and is thus focusing on the top group of the Bundesliga.

With the 2-0 (2-0) win, Hoffenheim overtook Hertha and, with 14 points, has found a connection to the European Cup as a provisional seventh in the table. Hertha initially remains eleventh in the table with twelve points.

“Not nice, we have to swallow that now,” said Hertha’s coach Pal Dardai at DAZN after the weak performance of his team and certified a “deserved victory for Hoffenheim”. Hertha had previously won three mandatory games in a row.

In front of 8,127 spectators in Sinsheim, Hertha had better chances at the beginning, but Andrej Kramaric scored the Hoffenheim lead in the 19th minute. Robert Skov’s pass from the left let Ihlas Bebou cleverly through to Kramaric, who pushed the ball into the left corner with his right hand. In the 36th minute it was Skov on the left again who played a decisive role. His shot from an acute angle bounced off the second post back into the penalty area, where Sebastian Rudy dusted off from 13 meters to make it 2-0.

Hoffenheim remained the dominant team after the break. Bebou missed the play on Kramaric in the 49th minute, which would have meant the 3-0. Such negligence was no longer punished and Hertha BSC had to end up being outnumbered. Dedryck Boyata had hit Angelo Stiller on the lower leg with an open sole in a duel, after the intervention of the video assistant, referee Sven Jablonski rightly showed red (76th).
