Board spokesman Axel Hellmann ends speculation about his future and stays with Eintracht Frankfurt. At a press conference, he also commented on a job at FC Bayern.

After his clear commitment to Eintracht Frankfurt, CEO Axel Hellmann made it clear that a move to German soccer champions Bayern Munich was never an issue. “There have never been discussions or a specific request to take over the position of Oliver Kahn or a similar one,” said Hellmann at a press conference.

He added: “It is clear that as a responsible person in the DFL you have discussions with many people at FC Bayern, the industry leader and flagship of the Bundesliga, especially to understand the investor process and to get opinions and feedback on it. But that has At no time was there any specific offer, request or even a conversation about such a role.”

Hellmann, whose contract with Eintracht runs until June 30, 2027, was also being discussed as the new head of the German Football League (DFL). Together with Oliver Leki from Freiburg, he will be the interim DFL managing director with equal rights until the end of June.

“It’s time to stop speculating and put a lid on a few things,” Hellmann said. It is clear that as interim managing director of the DFL, you “belong to the group of candidates who are suitable for a permanent management position at the DFL”. However, he spoke to Hans-Joachim Watzke on Monday evening and informed him “that I am not a candidate, but want to carry out my duties at Eintracht Frankfurt,” said the 51-year-old lawyer.
