Goalkeeper Ortega wants to go to Bayern – Neuer trains individually

FC Bayern is looking for a replacement for Manuel Neuer. After the cancellation of Chelsea’s Kepa, the second goalkeeper of Champions League winners Manchester City is apparently high on Munich’s list.
According to a media report, the German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega can move from Manchester City to Imagine FC Bayern very well.
As “ran.de” reported, the 30-year-old substitute goalkeeper of the Champions League winner would like to change, since he would be number 1 in Munich until Manuel Neuer returns. Accordingly, the English are blocking the transfer as long as they have not committed a suitable successor. According to Sky information, Bayern should also be interested and have already contacted Ortega.
The former goalkeeper from Arminia Bielefeld was already an issue for Bayern in January, but they then signed Yann Sommer (34) to replace the injured regular goalkeeper Neuer (37). Ortega only switched to Manchester City last summer and immediately won the treble with the team of former Bayern coach Pep Guardiola. His contract on the island runs until 2025.
What about Manuel Neuer?
After Neuer’s postponed comeback plans and the departures of Sommer, Alexander Nübel and Johannes Schenk, Bayern currently only have one experienced and fit goalkeeper in their squad in Sven Ulreich. It is not yet foreseeable that Neuer will return to team training.
CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen expressed confidence at the weekend about a new comeback “within the second half of the year”. Coach Thomas Tuchel does not want to put any time pressure on the 37-year-old national keeper, who has not played a game since breaking his lower leg in December. “If Manu feels free, it can also happen quickly. But it’s very speculative. We want to give him as much time as possible,” said the FCB coach.
There is a lot of speculation about Neuer’s health. The keeper himself does not comment on his fitness level, but he published training recordings on Instagram on Monday. The pictures showed the 2014 world champion on the sprint hill on Säbener Strasse and during exercises on the ball. On Tuesday he trained individually again.
