Thomas Tuchel lets the stars of FC Bayern Munich sweat for the first time during a team training session. The change candidates are there – but the desired striker is not yet.

Without Manuel Neuer FC Bayern Munich completed the first team training session in preparation for the new season. On the other hand, coach Thomas Tuchel was able to welcome the free newcomers Raphaël Guerreiro (from Borussia Dortmund) and Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig) in Munich for the first time as part of a unit with the team on the pitch.

It had been clear for some time that Neuer would not return at the start of training, as he had originally hoped. The captain has not played a game for the German soccer champions since breaking his lower leg in December.

According to “Bild”, the 37-year-old trained as individually as Matthijs de Ligt before the team left for the training camp at Tegernsee. The Dutchman suffered a calf injury with the national team in June.

Change candidates at team training

Change candidates also trained on the club grounds. Yann Sommer and Alexander Nübel sweated with their fellow goalkeepers, as did Sadio Mané during the field player exercises. “It’s crisp and warm here,” said German national soccer player Leon Goretzka.

Another training session in front of an audience in Rottach-Egern is scheduled for the evening. FC Bayern will play there next Tuesday (6:30 p.m.) against local FC Rottach-Egern.

The Munich squad at Tegernsee is not yet final for the next attack on more titles. The requested transfer of the top English striker Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur has not yet been realized. As expected, the attacker courted by FC Bayern Munich left with his club on a promotional tour in the Asia-Pacific region on Friday.

From July 24th to August 3rd the Munich side will also be on a trip to Asia with a total of three friendlies in Tokyo and Singapore. On August 12, Bayern play as German champions against DFB Cup winners RB Leipzig for the national Supercup. Six days later they open the new Bundesliga season away at SV Werder Bremen.
