“In my opinion, Dortmund have been doing a great job for years: they always manage to develop and sell world-class players and scout new ones. They will certainly be our main competitor again,” said the 27-year-old from “Sport Bild”. At the beginning of October, on the ninth day of the new season, Bayern have to play in the Bundesliga in Dortmund.
But Goretzka also made it clear that winning the title again was part of Bayern’s self-image. “At the end of the day, that’s what we want: excitement and drama. But with the right ending for us. If we have stubborn competitors, if there are big games, then we’ll be happy to take on this competition,” said the midfielder. “And it’s also clear: We want to be champions for the eleventh time in a row and ultimately win more than just one title. We have something to make up for in the cup and we will attack fully in the Champions League too.”
