Manuel Neuer’s medical check was apparently positive. One day after the examinations in a Munich hospital, the goalkeeper returned from FC Bayern to the training ground.

In addition to goalkeeper coach Michaelrechner, physio Knut Stamer also accompanied the 37-year-old’s session on Säbener Straße. Videos showed Neuer doing easy, goalkeeper-specific exercises.

Whether the national keeper can travel with the team to the five-day training camp at Tegernsee on Saturday remains to be seen. The media had recently reported that Neuer still needed time and would train more individually.

Since breaking his lower leg in December, Neuer has not played a game for the German record champions. Until the start of the Bundesliga on August 18, the keeper wanted to be number 1 in the Munich goal again. “I’m doing great. My leg has gotten better, more time has passed,” Neuer said on Monday before the medical check-up of the “Münchner Merkur/tz” media group.
