The fan protest against the planned entry of an investor into the DFL has recently increased – much to the displeasure of the Bayern boss. In an interview he shares a lot.

Jan-Christian Dreesen does not assume that more intense fan protests will prevent an investor from joining German Football League (DFL).

If the aim of individuals is to influence games using “unfair means”, he will take note of this: “But that will not change the fundamental attitude of the majority of the 36 Bundesliga clubs,” said the CEO of FC Bayern in an interview with ” World on Sunday”. On Friday there were again game interruptions in the first and second leagues following fan protests.

Dreesen now sharply criticized the organized fans who are paralyzing games in many places by throwing tennis balls. “I have the feeling that in some ultra scenes, content and dealing with facts no longer play a role,” said the 56-year-old. “That it’s no longer about football, but primarily about a demonstration of power.”

Recently, however, there were also calls from some clubs to have another vote on the entry of an investor into the DFL. A financial investor is to pay the DFL one billion euros for a percentage share of the TV revenue. In the final vote of the 36 professional clubs for the billion-dollar deal in December, the necessary two-thirds majority was only barely achieved.

If the investor deal, which the active fan scenes have been demonstrating against for months, fails, Dreesen predicts a bleak sporting future for the top German clubs: “Ultimately, we would lose touch with the big leagues in Europe.”
