Bulgaria – government overthrown in Sofia – politics

In Bulgaria, Prime Minister Kiril Petkov’s government fell on Wednesday after a vote of no confidence in parliament. The country may be heading for new elections. Petkov’s center party PP can now put a new government to the vote in parliament. If she does not get a majority, two more attempts can be made by other parties before the president appoints an interim cabinet and calls new elections. The opposition parties justified the vote of no confidence with criticism of the government’s economic and financial policies.
