According to Building Minister Christian Bernreiter (CSU), only around 1,300 roofs would be suitable, he said on Wednesday in Munich. “Of these, 400 are already occupied by photovoltaic systems, and a further 100 systems are currently being planned or built.” That corresponds to a share of 40 percent. Bernreiter contradicted reports and statements to the contrary, according to which only 3.7 percent of state roofs in the country had systems. This result is obtained if it is assumed that all of the approximately 11,000 roofs would be suitable for appropriate solar systems. On Tuesday, Green Party leader Ludwig Hartmann accused the state government of this bill as evidence of a lack of commitment to the energy transition. “We are clearly committed to the goal of building photovoltaic systems on as many state roofs as possible. However, it will not work on every toilet building or garbage building. That is why the figure of 11,000 state buildings, which is repeatedly attempted here, is misleading.” , stressed Bernreiter.
