The coalition members argued again for days, but now the package of measures is available with which the federal government wants to close the hole in the draft for the 2024 budget. It envisages a mix of savings, subsidy cuts and the reduction of federal subsidies, which is expected to bring in a total of more than ten billion euros. Recently controversial points such as the dismantling of several tax breaks for farmers are also included in the catalog. On the other hand, social cuts should be avoided, the climate-friendly restructuring of the country should be pushed forward and the debt rule of the Basic Law should be adhered to for the first time since 2019.
