The K-pop boy band BTS has announced a big deal with Disney: the singers will shoot several film projects.

BTS are shooting several movie projects for Disney. The Walt Disney Company and the South Korean company Hybe announced their termination in a message to collaborate on five film projects. These will appear on the Disney+ streaming service. Three projects have already been presented in more detail: The K-Pop stars will be seen in a concert film, a documentary series and – in part – in a reality show.

These three film and series projects are planned

The film “BTS: Permission To Dance On Stage – LA” shows the live performance at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in November 2021. It is not yet known when the concert will be available on the streaming service.

The documentary series “BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star”, on the other hand, is scheduled to appear next year, as Disney announced. It follows “the incredible journey of BTS, the pop icons of the 21st century.” The documentary is said to show “a huge fund of music and film material from the past nine years” and also give insights “into the daily lives, thoughts and plans of the BTS members”.

Not all BTS stars will appear on the reality show “In The Soop: Friendcation.” Only V (26) is involved. With actors Park Seo-joon (33), Choi Woo-shik (32), Park Hyung-sik (30) and rapper Peakboy (33), the K-pop star embarks on “a surprise trip”. The five friends enjoy “a variety of leisure and fun activities”.

BTS remain a team – with the possibility of solo projects

In mid-June, BTS at their annual Festa dinner known to want to take a break. “The group will remain active as a team and at the same time go individual ways in order to develop personally,” said a little later in a statement from the Hybe company, from which the “People” magazine quoted. The K-pop stars would “express their individuality through the release of solo albums and collaborations with other artists”.
