The Model and the Sniffer, the cult comedy series starring Bruce Willis, is now streaming on Hulu. His family is very happy.

The US actor achieved success with the successful comedy series “The Model and the Sniffer”. Bruce Willis (68) had his breakthrough in the 1980s. From 1985 to 1989 he played the funny but somewhat simple-minded detective David Addison, laying the foundation for his future successful career. But in recent years the series, originally simply called “Moonlighting”, has been increasingly forgotten. This was mainly because the ABC series was not available on common streaming services.

That changes now: As “People” magazine learned from daughter Rumer Willis (35)., the US streaming provider Hulu has now added the series to its program. “We were ecstatic, more than ecstatic, because we had literally only ever seen the series on videotape,” said Rumer Willis. The whole family is now “overjoyed” that Bruce Willis’ original signature role has been made available to the general public again.

“The Model and the Sniffer” only ran in Germany in 1990

“My dad had a closet filled to the brim with all the episodes on videotape,” Willis said. It is now a great pleasure to no longer have to laboriously search for the individual episodes on YouTube, but to be able to watch them again and again.

A total of 67 episodes of “The Model and the Sniffer” were filmed in five seasons. In Germany, the series was only shown on RTL plus after the official end in March 1990. Actress Cybill Shepherd (73) took on the female lead alongside Bruce Willis, who is now suffering from dementia. For Willis, after a few small series roles, it was the start of his big Hollywood career. Parallel to the series, in 1988 he slipped into what was probably his most iconic role of police officer John McClane in “Die Hard”.
