On Sunday, Bruce Springsteen will perform with the E-Street Band at Munich’s Olympic Stadium. It was last seen in the same place seven years ago. The most important facts about the concert.
When does it start?
The concert starts at 7 p.m. There is no opening act. The stadium will open to fans at 4 p.m.
Are there still tickets?
The concert is sold out, but there are isolated opportunities to purchase tickets through resale. On Thursday morning, almost 300 tickets were still available via the Internet provider Viagogo, and tickets were also offered in some categories via the Eventim platform, the cheapest for 97.50 euros.

The best way is to use public transport: concert tickets with the logo of the MVV (Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund) printed on them allow free use.
This is how it works with the subway: Line U3, stop Olympiazentrum. But be careful: due to the renewal of points at the Sendlinger Tor, the U3 can only run at a lower frequency. For this reason, the Stadtwerke also recommend using the U8. Additional trains will also be used on this line towards the end of the event. The Olympic Stadium can also be reached from the Gern underground station, which is served by the U1; here the walk takes about 30 minutes.
This is how it works by bus: Lines 144, 173, 177 or 178. Bus stops within walking distance of the stadium are Spiridon-Louis-Ring, Olympiasee, Olympiaberg, Olympiazentrum, Olympia-Eissportzentrum, Petuelring.
This is how it works by tram: Tram lines 20, 21. These run every 10 minutes to and from the Olympiapark West stop on Dachauer Straße until just before 1 a.m.

Where else can Springsteen be experienced?
The tour began on February 1st in Tampa, Florida and is scheduled to end on December 12th in San Francisco, California. Before the performance in Munich there were 57 concerts in 46 locations. The first in Europe took place in Barcelona on April 28th. At this event, Michelle Obama was on stage with “Glory Days”, played the tambourine and sang along. The German premiere was on June 21 in Düsseldorf – “a wonderfully escapist evening”, as SZ critic Joachim Hentschel wrote (SZ Plus). Springsteen could also be seen in Hamburg (July 15) and at the Hockenheimring (July 21). After the concert in Munich, he will be making a guest appearance on the race track in Monza in Italy on July 25th. This ends the European loop of the tour, which will then continue in North America.

Springsteen’s partner Patti Scialfa also performed at some concerts (acoustic guitar, tambourine). The fact that the set list varies only slightly compared to previous tours provoked criticism in fan forums. Steven Van Zandt countered, “Anyone judging the show by the number of songs or the time we’re on stage isn’t listening! This isn’t about numbers – it’s about an emotional experience.”

Springsteen in Munich – how often has that actually happened?
Officially there were eleven concerts, the first in April 1981 in the Olympic Hall. He also performed in the Olympic Stadium, in the riding stadium and at the exhibition center in Riem, once solo in the Rudi-Sedlmayer-Halle – and once, very spontaneously, at the final evening of a dance school in the Hotel Bayerischer Hof.
