The cheers outside the Los Angeles courthouse are huge as Britney Spears’ attorney steps in front of fans and announces that Britney’s father, Jamie, is no longer her guardian. For several years, the singer had tried to have her father removed as one of her guardians. She accuses him of exploiting her financially, of forcing her to work.

After an emotional testimony in court in June, she was allowed to find a new lawyer. Apparently it was worth it. Spears’ attorney Rosengart said there was something to celebrate that day. “It’s a great day for Britney Spears, and it’s a great day for Justice. Britney Spears has faced a decades-long nightmare. And I am so proud of her for her courage and strength. She is so pleased and she is you so grateful to everyone. “

Tears of joy after the judgment

This refers to the supporters of the Free Britney movement. Hundreds of them had come to demonstrate for the pop star. Many were touched by the judgment and shed tears. Supporter Emma also had posters with her and was delighted with the result. “I’m excited and happy. Now your father can also be investigated. He could go to jail and the others who were responsible for it, I’m thrilled!”

For some fans, like Chase, Britney is more than a pop star. “I’ve loved her since I was four. I’ve been to concerts, have tattoos of her. She plays a big role in the LGBTQ + community. I come from Texas, where everything is very conservative. She was a role model for me I can never give her back! “

Spears’ father faces legal consequences

Britney’s attorney had threatened that there could be legal ramifications for Jamie Spears. According to a documentary in the New York Times newspaper, it emerged that the pop star was apparently bugged at home, even in the bedroom.

Britney Spears is still not completely free. A new guardian, John Zabel, whom she has chosen herself, should now be responsible for her finances – at least for a few weeks. The next hearing is due to take place in mid-November. Then the court could decide on the possible lifting of all conditions – and end the guardianship in all areas.
