After her split from Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears fell into a hole. In her autobiography she reports how Madonna gave her new courage. The star was able to read the book in advance.

Pop star Britney Spears has described singer Madonna as a mentor and role model in her newly published autobiography. Especially after the separation from Justin Timberlake, after which Spears fell into a deep hole, Madonna gave her new courage, it says in her autobiography. The book will be released this Tuesday under the title “The Woman in Me” and is the star exclusively in advance.

In the months after her split from Timberlake in 2002, Britney Spears writes in her book that she isolated herself. She hardly left the house. “Most days I couldn’t even bring myself to call a friend.” During this time she received a visit from Madonna in her New York apartment. “Madonna’s extraordinary self-confidence helped me see many things about my situation differently,” Spears writes in her memoir. “She probably intuitively sensed what I was going through. I needed guidance at the time because I wasn’t coping with my life, and she tried to be a mentor to me.”

Britney Spears: Madonna was a good influence on me

Madonna introduced her to the Jewish mysticism of Kabbalah; Shortly afterwards, Spears said she had a Hebrew word, one of the 72 names of God, tattooed on her neck. “Madonna was a good influence on me in many ways,” writes Spears. Madonna advised her to give her soul enough time off. “She was the role model for a kind of strength that I desperately needed at the time,” emphasizes Britney Spears.
