Britney Spears is living her life to the fullest – including on Instagram. There the singer just posted nude pictures again. Reason for mockery for US comedian Bonnie McFarlane.

After thirteen years under strict tutelage, Britney Spears is savoring what it means to be free these days. For the first time in a long time she is allowed to make decisions about her life and her body herself. And so does the singer.

Britney Spears: Comedian Shares Anti-Free Britney Tweet

Again and again she shares words against her family. The people they controlled for years, most of whom were able to live at their expense. At the same time, Spears regularly celebrates her newfound freedom with revealing pictures. That’s what happened a few days ago when she posted photos of herself naked on the beach. She covered her intimate area and nipples with emojis.

Apparently it was these snapshots that led American comedienne Bonnie McFarlane to tweet about Spears. “This Free Britney thing could have been a mistake,” she wrote on the short message service. For years, hardcore fans of the singer had demonstrated for her release from guardianship. They became known as the “Free Britney” movement. McFarlane didn’t elaborate on her tweet, but Spears’ fans were clear: they accused the comedian of condemning Spears’ nude photos.

The shitstorm follows promptly

“She’s free to post whatever she wants, especially while she’s recovering from years of trauma,” wrote one user. “Because she’s comfortable showing her body? Or because she’s a little bit quirky? Freedom isn’t based on what you think is ‘normal’,” commented another fan. “Oh my god, a famous woman shows topless? Take her rights away immediately,” wrote one fan account wryly.

Author Simon Curtis responded to McFarlane’s controversial tweet: “One of the most horrific, egregious cases of human trafficking, (…) with bloodletting, imprisonment, stolen $600 million and forced sterilization. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? Except by a glaring lack of talent.”
