King Charles and Kate spend weekend in hospital

The procedure that Charles had performed required a hospital stay of up to three days. The fact that his diagnosis was made public is unusual, but it has a background.
After his prostate operation, the British king is expected to Charles III Leave the hospital in the new week at the earliest. According to dpa information, neither he nor Princess Kate was previously expected to be fired.
The 75-year-old had undergone surgery for an enlarged prostate. Charles went to the same private clinic as Princess Kate (42), who had abdominal surgery in mid-January. The wife of Charles’ older son and heir to the throne William (41) has since been recovering in the private London Clinic in the British capital.
King Charles’ benign prostate enlargement is a common and easily treatable disease. According to the British National Health Service (NHS), a hospital stay of up to three days is common after this procedure.
The king is reportedly doing well. According to British media, Queen Camilla (76), who was also seen again visiting the hospital, said shortly after the operation that Charles was doing well. She appeared to be smiling in pictures that showed her in a car after leaving the clinic.
Visiting daughter-in-law Kate
Charles reportedly paid his daughter-in-law a visit before undergoing surgery. It was initially not known what Kate was suffering from. It’s not supposed to be cancer. But the length of her hospital stay raises concerns that it may not have been an easy procedure. According to the palace, she will only attend public appointments again after Easter. According to dpa information, the king is expected to carry out his duties in private surroundings for a month.
The fact that the royal family made Charles’ diagnosis public is unusual and is reportedly intended to encourage more men to go to the doctor. Prostate Help Germany welcomed the step. “Every celebrity who goes public with this also highlights this disease,” said co-founder Michael Reinhard. They are good sponsors to motivate men to go for early detection.
The association is a private initiative that wants to educate people. For example, the website contains information about prostate cancer and also benign prostate enlargement, as Charles was diagnosed with.
“His Majesty would like to thank all those who have sent their good wishes,” Buckingham Palace said before the operation. The King was also pleased to learn that the announcement of his diagnosis had had a positive impact on public health awareness.
Wishes for recovery came from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak (Conservative), among others. His spokeswoman wished “all the best” and “a speedy recovery” on behalf of the head of government.
