Queen Camilla receives Zelensky’s wife in London

It’s not her first visit to London. Olena Selenska also attended the coronation of King Charles III. took part.

Britain’s Queen Camilla welcomed Ukraine’s First Lady more than two years after Russia’s war of aggression began. Camilla welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s wife, Olena Zelenska, to her London residence, Clarence House. According to the British news agency PA, the two spoke for about half an hour.

Selenska posted pictures of her visit on Instagram. She thanked the royal family and the entire United Kingdom “for the consistent support of Ukraine”, the hosting of around 200,000 Ukrainian refugees and the regular meetings. “I am convinced that our peoples have common values: life, freedom, democracy. We will continue to defend them together.”

Ukraine has been fending off a war of aggression by Russia for two years now. Selenska also attended the coronation of Camilla’s husband King Charles III last year. who is currently not attending public appointments due to cancer. On Wednesday Selenska also visited British Foreign Minister David Cameron, and on Thursday she met Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s wife, Akshata Murty.
