At the beginning of February, Charles made it public that he had cancer. Now he has had himself photographed again at an official appointment. And says how much the support touches him.

Britain’s King Charles III appeared at a professional appointment for the first time since he was diagnosed with cancer. He met with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for an audience at Buckingham Palace, the palace announced. Charles also met the Privy Council.

In a video, Charles was seen saying he had received so many wonderful messages and cards. This “moved him to tears,” said the 75-year-old in an excerpt published by the television station Sky News.

The monarch made it public at the beginning of February that he had cancer. It is not known what type of cancer it is. It’s not supposed to be prostate cancer. Charles is being treated as an outpatient.

Prime Minister Sunak told the king it was good to see him. He assured the monarch that the country was behind him. The two also spoke about charities that support people with cancer. The rest of the conversation remained confidential – as is usual with regular audiences.
