The improved aids to compensate for corona loads started on Friday. The hospitality industry in particular submitted applications. Up to 100,000 further applications are expected.

The new Bridging Aid IV to compensate for the burdens caused by the Corona crisis is particularly popular in the hospitality industry.

According to the Federal Ministry of Economics, a funding volume of almost 200,000 euros was applied for immediately with the start of the improved aid on Friday. The ministry announced on Saturday that the first applications were submitted from Bremen and North Rhine-Westphalia, among others, and primarily affected the hospitality industry.

From Friday until the end of April, applications for bridging allowance IV for the funding period from January to March 2022 can be submitted. According to the information, the funding conditions for companies have been improved again “in order to take up the concerns of the industries concerned”. Not only material costs, but also personnel costs that companies incur as a result of 2G and 2G-plus access controls can now be claimed.

Up to 100,000 more applications are expected

It is assumed that, depending on the course of the pandemic, up to 100,000 companies will submit applications, it said. Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) said that the first installments would be paid out in the next few weeks. “We know that it is time-consuming and expensive for many companies to implement 2G rules or other corona access restrictions.” Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) emphasized: “In this way we stand by the companies to mitigate the burden of the pandemic as much as possible.”

Bridging aid IV can be requested via the platform www.ueberbrueckungshilfe-unternehmen.de. According to the information, the approval offices of the federal states are responsible for processing, and they could approve down payments of up to 100,000 euros per funding month. Advance payments are advance payments that are later compared with the actual economic damage.
