“Bridgerton”: This could continue in seasons 3 and 4

The hit series “Bridgerton” is based on the novels by Julia Quinn. And they are way ahead of the series. We have looked at the books once and make assumptions about how it could go on.

The second season of the Netflix series “Bridgerton” is also ideal for binge watching. But after the eight episodes, the question arises: What’s next? Finally, a third and fourth season have already been confirmed. Fortunately, there is still the original book by author Julia Quinn. The eight volumes were published between 2000 and 2006. Each volume is dedicated to the love life of one of the Bridgerton siblings. So far, series creator Shonda Rhimes has followed that logic, highlighting the story of Daphne in Season 1 and Viscount Anthony Bridgerton in Season 2. So next season would be Benedict Bridgerton, the second eldest brother. The book was published in 2001 under the title: “How to Seduce a Lord”.

That’s what Volume 3 is about

Benedict Bridgerton has so far seemed little interested in the debutantes. But at a masked ball he changes his mind. A mysterious lady turns his head, but she disappears at midnight. The memory of a kiss and a glove is all that remains for the sensitive and rather quiet Benedict. The plot is strongly reminiscent of the fairy tale of Cinderella or Cinderella. So far, all versions of the story have had a happy ending, but the way to get there has been different. Is that also the case this time?

What is certain, however, is that the mysterious beauty is a certain Sophie Beckett. And she doesn’t want to reveal herself, because according to social standards she is not a suitable bride for Benedict: she is the illegitimate daughter of a lord. After his death, she is kept by her stepmother as a maid. Whether and how the two still get each other could be a plot for season 3.

That’s what Volume 4 is about

Volume 4 “Penelope’s Spicy Secret” from 2002 shows the mixture of Jane Austen novel and Gossip Girl series that is so typical for Bridgerton: This volume is about the love story between Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington: Ever since her From a young age, Penelope is secretly in love with Colin, but he just doesn’t seem to notice her. But that changes after a conversation and a tender kiss. But Penelope has a secret. (Warning, spoilers!)

Under the pseudonym Lady Whistledown, she writes columns about members of the Society. And they are spicy, even scandalous. How will Colin react when he finds out about this? Penelope is underestimated by most, sometimes not even noticed. In the series, however, she develops more and more into a humorous and quick-witted young woman. This makes her the ideal counterpart to Colin, because he too has an oppressive secret. So they both hide a lot from their environment. If that isn’t a good plot for season 4!

Whether the makers will really stick to it is not yet certain: In an interview with “Entertainment TonightShonda Rhimes said, “We’re not necessarily going in order, but we’ll see all the siblings and their stories.”
