Brest misses the boat – Dbrief and NOTES of the players (SB29 1-1 RCSA) – Football

Too sufficient in the second period, Brest was taken back by Strasbourg (1-1), this Thursday, during the late match of the 12th day of Ligue 1. A parity score which prevents the Breton team from integrating the TOP 5 in the French championship.

Brest lost two points against Strasbourg.

ric Roy can pout. While the TOP 5 could open its doors to it, Brest conceded a draw against Strasbourg (1-1) this Thursday, during the late match of the 12th day of Ligue 1.

A disappointing result for the Brest team, still 7th and punished in the last quarter of an hour by their Alsatian counterpart, now 13th.

Douaron strikes before the break

Brest does not rhyme with spectacle but with three goals scored against Montpellier and Clermont, the Bretons have become accustomed to laying down the law against the poorly ranked. The locals’ invigorating start to the match was more in this direction with a coherent game but a weak presence in the opposing area. As the minutes passed, the Strasbourg side even took control of the game thanks to a fairly sharp counterplay carried by a particularly lively Bakwa on his right wing.

A slight domination close to being rewarded with a dive from Mothiba repelled by Bizot. On the sidelines, Ric Roy was annoyed by the lack of solutions from his players, feeling uncomfortable. A first period which could have gone badly if Emegha, who came on in place of the injured Doukour, had made better use of his first ball after a caviar from Gameiro. Before the break, Le Douaron took advantage of a pass from Doumbia to relieve his team by deceiving Sels with a cross shot between the legs (1-0, 44th).

Emegha snatches draw

Upon returning from the locker room, the match was played at a false pace. The Alsatians struggled to find a second wind after having given a lot for 45 minutes while the Brestois did not press on the accelerator and preferred to manage their short but precious advance. This could have been more consistent if Pereira Lage, on his first ball, had found the fault on a header that was a little too crossed. A huge occasion that the residents of the Stade Francis-Lebl could regret.

Indeed, the RCSA got back on track thanks to a great collective action concluded by Emegha, the reception of a caviar from Sahi Dion, himself sumptuously found by Mwanga (1-1, 80th). A deserved equalizer for the visitors, much more consistent following the tactical change made by Patrick Vieira. Surprised, the Brestois tried to react but rushed too much in the last gesture despite a final opportunity to score for Camara. A score that can legitimately frustrate Eric Roy…

Match rating: 6/10

A fairly pleasant match to follow between two teams who played forward. As at the end of the Reims match, Strasbourg tried to produce some play to get a deserved equalizer against a fairly sufficient Brest team. We had clear chances on both sides and suspense until the end.

The goals :

– On the right, Le Cardinal overflows and finds Doumbia. The Brest midfielder slides the ball to his left for Le Douaron who shoots low to deceive Sels between the legs at the near post (1-0, 44th).

– At 40 meters, Mwanga slips a magnificent shot into the depths for Sahi Dion. The new entrant looks up and sees Emegha alone at the far post. The Dutchman does not tremble and sends the ball into the back of the net with a flat foot (1-1, 80th).

Player RATINGS

Maxifoot has awarded a rating (out of 10) to each player.

Man of the match: Abakar Sylla (7/10)

Starting again after a decent match in Reims, the Ivorian central defender was good. He perfectly blocked Satriano who did not see the light in this match. Thanks to his solidity, Sels made little contribution in this part.

BREST :

Marco Bizot (6): the Dutch goalkeeper showed solidity on his line, notably repelling a dive from Mothiba shortly before the half-hour mark and a crushed shot from Diarra. He made four saves in this match and could not do much about Emegha’s goal.

Kenny Lala (5): the Brest right side did the job for 80 minutes. Without ever taking any risks in his lane, he was solid enough to prevent his opponents from placing their game in his zone. However, he lacks clarity on the Alsatian goal by dropping the mark on Emegha in the area.

Julien Le Cardinal (5.5): a decent match for the player loaned by Lens whose overrun before the break allowed Brest to open the scoring through Le Douaron. However, he was pushed around by the Emegha-Mothiba duo who weighed in throughout the meeting.

Lilian Brassier (5): like Le Cardinal, the central defender had difficulty making an impact in front of Mothiba and Emegha. It was not transcendent overall.

Bradley Locko (5): the Breton left-back had a very difficult first period against Bakwa. Systematically overwhelmed, he regained momentum after the break by being much more aggressive on the ball carrier. He even allowed himself several interesting climbs that were poorly exploited by his partners.

Jonas Martin (5): brought to take control of the midfield in the absence of Lees-Melou, the Montpellier-trained midfielder alternated between the good and the less good. He initially had difficulty managing the rises of Doukour and Sissoko before finding his cruising rhythm after the half hour of play. A generally average match.

Hugo Magnetti (4.5): the Marseille midfielder struggled this evening. Without Lees-Melou, he had more difficulty finding his place in the midfield and stood out with a gross foul on Gameiro who was going on the counterattack. Below its usual level.

Kamory Doumbia (6): we saw little of the Malian attacking midfielder but he was really effective with his touches of the ball. Decisive passer of a nice delivery for Le Douaron before the break, he streamlined his team’s play in certain sequences thanks to the ability to shift his partners on a touchline. Replaced the 64th minute with Mahdi Camara (not not).

Romain Del Castillo (6): a quality outing for the player trained at Olympique Lyonnais. He wasn’t far from hitting the top corner in the first half with a nice curling shot. He also delighted his audience with well-crafted hooks to easily eliminate his opponents. His magnificent curled cross was poorly exploited by Pereira Lage. Replaced in the 85th minute by Bilal Brahimi (no not).

Martn Satriano (3): preferred Mounie, the Uruguayan did not weigh in this match. He was generally not very mobile and had a lot of difficulty getting rid of the markings of Sylla and Perrin. Replaced the 70th minute with Steve Mounie (no not).

Jrmy Le Douaron (6.5): another great copy from the Brest striker. Close to scoring with a header at the start of the match, he opened the scoring shortly before the break by deceiving Sels with a shot between the legs. He was a constant threat despite his team’s less successful second half. Replaced the 70th minute with Mathias Pereira Lage (no not).

STRASBOURG :

Matz Sels (5): not really flawless on Le Douaron’s goal, the Belgian goalkeeper made three saves in this match. He was well protected by the Sylla-Perrin pair.

Marvin Senaya (6): a rather interesting match for the right side of the RCSA. He used impact to push Le Douaron out of his zone. He distinguished himself with sharp mounts. Replaced the 78th minute with Thomas Delaine (not not).

Loubadhe Abakar Sylla (7): read comment above.

Lucas Perrin (6): the former Marseillais did the job quite well. His pairing with Sylla was promising and could be a basis to allow Patrick Vieira to regain solidity.

Frederic Guilbert (5): neither good nor bad. Aligned on the left, the full-back added little to his lane apart from this loose strike before Emegha’s equalizer. He had a hard time against Del Castillo.

Ismael Doukoure (not rated): a difficult evening for the Alsatian midfielder who, after an interesting half-hour, had to give up his place due to an injury. Replaced the 36th minute with Emmanuel Emegha (6), author of an interesting entry despite his less than academic ball handling. He reassures himself by equalizing with a well-aimed shot at the far post.

Ibrahima Sissoko (3): the Malian completely missed his match. Against his former club, he was terribly technically clumsy, losing balls that could have been interesting. He never managed to speed up the game.

Dilane Bakwa (5.5): a more than interesting first period for the winger who arrived from Bordeaux who hurt Locko on each of his attacks. He was much less present upon returning from the locker room, visibly worn out by the repetitive efforts. Replaced the 70th minute with ngelo (not not).

Kevin Gameiro (6): in a playmaker position, the attacker who passed through Lorient was quite comfortable distributing the game well. He offered several good balls to Mothiba, Emegha and Guilbert, who all missed their attempts. Replaced the 78th minute with Mose Dion Sahi (not not)decisive passer on Emegha’s goal.

Habib Diarra (4): a match in line with those he has offered since the start of the season. The first Strasbourg player to stand out on a crushed shot, the young midfielder was placed back in the midfield after Doukour’s exit without much success. A timid outing, one more. Replaced the 70th minute with Junior Mwanga (no not).

Lebo Mothiba (6): Emegha’s favorite, the South African striker weighed heavily on the Brest defense who had great difficulty handling him. He came close to opening the scoring before the half-hour mark with a dive deflected by Bizot. Even if he didn’t score, he was important in the pressing.
