Former striker Filippo Inzaghi is back in charge of Brescia Calcio two days after his sacking. A clause helps him.

Curious turnaround at Brescia Calcio and ex-striker Filippo Inzaghi.

On Monday, the former Milan striker and ex-Coach of the Rossoneri dismissed as coach of the second division, but on Wednesday the club announced his return.

Brescia Calcio have already announced successors

What happened? Inzaghi has a clause in his two-year contract that prohibits him from being sacked if Brescia finish in the top eight in Serie B. The team is currently in third place.

Club boss Massimo Cellino previously complained that the team had lost their competitiveness in the past few weeks and had won too few games as a result.

After a clean sheet against Cosenza Calcio, Brescia fired their coach and directly replaced him with Diego Lopez. But thanks to his clause, Inzaghi, world champion of 2006, is back in office.
