Brenner-Nordzulauf: Blazing protest – Ebersberg

A highly visible sign against “Limone” lit up the southern county on Saturday night. The “Aktionsbündnis Bahn Bürgerinitiativen Deutschland” had called for a nationwide protest with warning fires, in the district of Ebersberg there were rallies at three locations: in Niclasreuth, Elkofen and, here in the picture, Dorfen near Lorenzenberg. The opponents protested against the railway line, the northern access to the Brenner Pass, through previously largely untouched nature, directly on the planned course of the route. Instead of the route with the working title “Limone” they demand “an optimized, close-to-stock, environmentally friendly and landscape-friendly expansion of the stock”. The members of the Ebersberg citizens’ initiative want the tracks between Grafing and Ostermünchen to be laid along the existing rails. However, Deutsche Bahn has so far refused to replan the route.
