“Breathing Concert” by Masaka Ohta in the Pinakothek der Moderne – Munich

Breath in, breath out. This reflex determines our life, a natural rhythm, sometimes slower, sometimes faster. Like music that doesn’t stop until we stop breathing, die. The poet among the female composers, the pianist Masako Ohta from Tokyo, will present her new solo concert project “Atem – breath” on Thursday, August 10th in the rotunda of the Pinakothek der Moderne.

She was inspired by her compatriot, the Japanese artist Rei Naito, whose exhibition “breath” can only be seen there until August 13th. Otha dedicates a new composition to her entitled “breath … for Rei Naito”, which will premiere this evening.

“Breath – breath”, Masako Ohta, 10 August, 6 p.m., Pinakothek der Moderne (Rotunda), free admission
