In 2008, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt bought a winery. Now he wants to prevent their shares from being sold to an oligarch.

New round in the dispute over the shared winery of Angelina Jolie (46) and Brad Pitt (58) in southern France. As the US portal “TMZ” reports, Pitt has now officially filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife. He wanted to reverse the sale of their company shares to a Russian oligarch and have them declared null and void. Jolie sold her share behind his back. In his eyes, that is unacceptable.

In 2008, the two jointly acquired the Château Miraval in Correns between Marseille and Nice. Pitt now claims in the lawsuit, which TMZ has seen, that he has invested a lot of money and time over the years, which he also wants to be compensated for. His wife at the time would have paid 40 percent of the original purchase price of 25 million euros, and he paid the rest himself.

Brad Pitt doesn’t want the winery in the hands of the competition

However, it was he who made the winery profitable. Jolie has had nothing to do with it since 2013 at the latest. According to Pitt, there was always an agreement that neither of them could sell their shares without the consent of the other. As early as July 2021, Jolie announced that it had reached an agreement with a buyer. In September, as part of the divorce proceedings, Pitt’s attorneys said he did not agree to the sale.

He doesn’t want a subsidiary of a large Russian vodka producer to buy into his winery. He was shocked by the entanglements of the companies, it said in October. An insider now gave the portal to understand that Pitt really cares about the winery, which he himself led to success. He doesn’t want parts of it to be sold to the competition. Jolie, on the other hand, is only concerned with maximum profit: “She wants a return on an investment she didn’t make and profits she didn’t deserve.”
