Brad Pitt has started filming his new Formula 1 film. The scenes were captured at the Silverstone race.

Hollywood star Brad Pitt (59) mingled with the Formula 1 drivers last weekend. At the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, he donned a racing suit to shoot for his new film.

Brad Pitt is having the time of his life in Formula 1

For example, the actor ran alongside professional driver Carlos Sainz (28) from Ferrari to the starting grid. He also drove around the track in a modified racing car. According to Page Six he was also spotted with two stunt drivers. Opposite “Sky Sports” the actor said he felt “a little dizzy” before stepping on the grid. “I have to say it’s great to be here.” He has “the time of my life”.

In the untitled Apple film, Pitt plays a former Formula 1 driver who returns to the racing world as a mentor to a young driver. The young colleague is played by Damson Idris (31), who was also seen at Silverstone in the black and white racing driver’s suit of the fictitious “APXGP” team. Hollywood star Javier Bardem (54) takes on the role of team owner.

The viewer should be brought directly into the cockpit

According to “Variety”, producer Jerry Bruckheimer (79) and director Joseph Kosinski (49) already revealed at the beginning of May that the Hollywood star would get into a real racing car for the film on the edge of the British Grand Prix. The two promised the most authentic motorsport film of all time. When working on their joint film “Top Gun: Maverick” they would have developed the “smallest moving 6k camera” ever. It should bring the viewer directly into the cockpit. Brad Pitt raved in an interview with “Sky Sports”: “You’ve never seen such speed, you have never seen such G-force, it’s really, really exciting.” Cameras are installed everywhere in the racing car.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton (38) acts as the film’s producer. He revealed on the sidelines of filming that Pitt and Kosinski attended the pre-race drivers’ briefing, calling the moment “probably the best drivers’ briefing we’ve ever had.”
