With lots of exhibits, merch, purple lights and postage stamps, boy band BTS is getting big celebrations in South Korea.

To mark the tenth anniversary of the boy band BTS, the city hall of the South Korean capital Seoul and other buildings are to be illuminated in purple for two weeks.

The label Bighit Music announced that the anniversary will be celebrated in cooperation with the city until June 25 under the motto “BTS presents everywhere”. The South Korean Post issued stamps to mark the band’s anniversary.

According to the city, in addition to the city hall, the Dongdaemun Design Plaza and bridges over the Han River will also be illuminated in purple. Purple is considered the symbol color of the group, which is currently taking a musical break. Two of its members are doing their military service, the other five will have to start soon.

BTS are currently the most successful music formation in South Korean pop music – the so-called K-Pop. The boy band stormed the charts with hits like “Dynamite” and “Permission to Dance”. In June 2013, J-Hope, Jin, RM, Jimin, Jungkook, Suga and V released their debut single “No More Dream”.

Exhibitions and marketing events for the sale of merchandise items are also planned to be held throughout Seoul for the BTS anniversary. The group has played an important role in promoting the city’s attractions to the world, the city officials said. “The group’s appearance in the city’s commercials every year has boosted Seoul’s tourism industry.”
