Bow hunter fatally hit by deer in the middle of a hunt

An archery hunter died on Saturday morning in the middle of a hunt, in Dainville-Bertheléville (Meuse). He was hit by a 150-200 kg deer who was trying to flee, reports The voice of the North. The man, a fifty-year-old father of two children residing in Merville (North) would have died on the spot.

“In more than twenty years, I don’t remember a fatal accident in these conditions. […] The victim was in the animal’s line of flight, in the wrong place at the wrong time, ”explained to the regional daily Hervé Vuillaume, president of the departmental hunting federation of the Meuse.

The hunter’s body had not yet been repatriated to the North department on Monday.
