Borussia Dortmund: The time has finally come! BVB makes it official

The fans of Borussia Dortmund looked forward to their club’s squad with excitement on Saturday afternoon. A few days before the game against Werder Bremen, the runner-up had already seen signs of one or two comebacks. Everyone was particularly looking at Felix Nmecha.

+++ BVB fans stunned – message from FIFA boss has them tearing their hair out +++

The international player has been missing since mid-November with a painful hip injury. His comeback was delayed by a few weeks. Borussia Dortmund didn’t want to take any risks. But the time had come against Bremen.

Borussia Dortmund: Nmecha is back

The club made it official just over an hour before kick-off. In addition to the starting line-up, BVB also announced which players would be on the substitutes’ bench. And that’s where Nmecha found himself – for the first time since November 11th, when he was on the pitch for 63 minutes in the 2-1 defeat in Stuttgart.

+++ Even the players can’t find an answer – the problem leaves fans in despair +++

The 30 million euro addition from Wolfsburg is back right at the important phase of the season. In the league, every win counts for Borussia Dortmund in order to qualify for the Champions League. And in that one on Wednesday (March 13th) it’s all about making it to the quarter-finals.

Nmecha gives coach Edin Terzic another option in central midfield. Captain Emre Can and his representative Salih Özcan were not always able to convince there recently.

Another returnee

But Nmecha wasn’t the only comebacker in Bremen! Because one of BVB’s most important players returned in goal. Gregor Kobel was injured against VfL Wolfsburg in February and missed two league games and the first leg against Eindhoven.

He also recovered and went straight back into the starting eleven. Even though Alexander Meyer mastered his role as representative solidly: everyone at BVB knows how important Kobel is to the success of the black and yellow team.
