There was a lot of trouble at BVB this season because of the design of the cup shirt. The fans can make suggestions for the home jersey after next.

Borussia Dortmund is looking for a special home shirt designed by fans for the 2023/24 season. BVB captain Marco Reus and club legend Dede are part of a nine-person jury that makes a pre-selection from 15,000 entries. From February 25th, the fans will finally be able to vote on the new design.

“There were quite a few where I said: ‘They look really great’,” said Reus about the numerous suggestions from the fans (Here’s the video). According to the club, fans from more than 100 countries submitted their designs for the 2023/24 home shirt under the motto “Design datt Ding”.

BVB jersey: the first selection has been made

The jury led by Reus and Dede is currently in the process of selecting the nine best designs. The fans can then decide in a vote from February 25th to March 18th what the jersey should look like. A first selection of potential designs has already been leaked.

Last fall, BVB received a shit storm after the design of the black and yellow Champions League jersey was published. Both the neon yellow color choice and the almost invisible club crest were heavily criticized by supporters.

Fans spoke on Twitter of a “deviant design” or “absolute impertinence”. Now Borussia has admitted “some fashion escapades and total mistakes” to itself and is looking for a new jersey together with the supporters.
