Borussia Dortmund: Club is flabbergasted – fans run into BVB!

Signal Iduna Park is considered one of the largest football temples in world football. With over 80,000 fans behind them, Borussia Dortmund has already celebrated some magical football nights in the former Westfalenstadion. On April 2nd the stadium celebrated its 50th birthday. A special campaign is now causing an enormous rush of fans.

BVB has come up with something very special to celebrate the stadium’s 50th anniversary. The club has designed a special jersey to pay tribute to Signal Iduna Park. Part of the stadium adorns the front of the new jersey in black. The reaction from the fans is huge.

Borussia Dortmund: Fans are thrilled

When the official sale of the special jersey began this Friday (April 5th) at 10 a.m., over 100,000 fans were in the digital queue of the online shop. Many fans also gathered at the stadium’s fan shop to receive one of the coveted jerseys. The club posted a video of the queue on X (formerly Twitter) with the words: “You guys are crazy”. Apparently the club had not expected such a rush.

Special jersey in use against Stuttgart

The jersey will only be used on the next match day. Against VfB Stuttgart, Sancho, Brandt and Co. will arrive at Signal Iduna Park wearing the special jersey. There they can go on their “12th” again. Man”: The stadium is, as so often, completely sold out.

The jersey should still be a minor matter in the game against Stuttgart. In the direct duel for a place in the Champions League, BVB has to maintain fourth place in the table. If Dortmund lose and RB Leipzig win at SC Freiburg, Leipzig will overtake BVB.
