Boosted by the Prime Video series, the cursed game “Fallout 76” breaks attendance records

More deserted than a radioactive earth when it launched at the end of 2018, the multiplayer game “Fallout 76” is repopulating thanks to the live-action adaptation of Prime Video. The latest opus in the saga breaks record attendance after record with a peak recorded, on Sunday April 21, at 73,000 simultaneous players on Steam. On SteamDB, the reference database for everything directly or indirectly related to the game sales platform, the release of the show on April 11 had a clear effect on server traffic. As evidenced by the graph below.

The yellow and blue combination is all the rage, and its success extends far beyond Valve’s platform. On Tuesday, April 23, the official Fallout account welcomed the million players gathered, all platforms combined, on “Fallout 76” (and almost five million in total on the various games in the franchise).

Codes offered on Amazon Prime Gaming

In addition to the undeniable boost provided by the series (much appreciated among our ranks), and the quality of the follow-up from Bethesda Game Studios, which considerably corrected and enriched the base game and continues to do so six years after release, this renewed popularity certainly has a third explanation to be found on Amazon’s side.

Simultaneously with the television show going live, Prime subscribers have the opportunity to obtain a free PC or Xbox download code for “Fallout 76” via Amazon Prime Gaming. Interested ? You have until May 15 to venture into the desolate but repopulated lands of “Fallout 76” without paying a capsule (the currency in force in this post-apocalyptic universe)! Good news which should not overshadow much less happy news. We learned on Tuesday the very discreet closure of Bethesda France.
