A new tell-all book about the British Royal Family is once again causing a stir. Tomorrow, Tuesday (November 28th), “Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival” will be published again, a biography written by Omid Scobie, who is a close confidante of Prince Harry (39) and Duchess Meghan (42) applies.

The British journalist was already on everyone’s lips in 2020 when he published “Finding Freedom”, a book about the Sussexes and their resignation from the royal family. He became one of the most discussed royal correspondents and Harry and Meghan’s favorite journalist.

From celebrity journalist to royal expert

Omid Scobie grew up in Oxford, where he went to school and then studied journalism at the London College of Communications. After briefly writing for a British celebrity magazine, Scobie became head of the European bureau at US entertainment magazine Us Weekly. There he began reporting more and more frequently on the British royal family in 2011, thereby laying the foundation for his later career as a royal expert.

He then worked as a royal editor-in-chief at Harper’s Bazaar and as a royal expert at ABC News, and even appeared regularly on Good Morning America. 2021 explained he told “Tatler” magazinethat the royals are “big business” in the US.

Over the years, Scobie’s reporting increasingly focused on Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan. He was quickly fascinated by her story and her growing fan base. He also felt connected to Meghan through her fight against racism, as his mother comes from Iran.

Scobie was also one of only three journalists who was allowed to take part in Meghan’s last day as a working royal in spring 2020. In “Harper’s Bazaar” he wrote about their emotional encounter at Buckingham Palace. He hugged Meghan goodbye.

In 2020, Scobie co-authored the book “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Royal Family” with his colleague, American journalist Carolyn Duran. The book sold more than 31,000 copies in the UK in just five days. The content was written down on paper by a third-party source with Meghan’s support.
