Another incident occurred with a Boeing aircraft. I had a “technical problem” on board the Boeing on Monday 787-9 Dreamliner caused violent turbulence, reported the broadcaster Radio New Zealand (RNZ) citing the airline. The incident occurred on a flight operated by the Chilean airline LATAM between Sydney, Australia and the New Zealand city of Auckland.
“People were flying through the cabin,” RNZ quoted a passenger on Monday’s flight as saying, who was uninjured. Most of those affected were not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident. Several people were injured in the incident, one of the passengers seriously. The New Zealand Herald reported, Paramedics treated 50 people at Auckland Airport. Twelve passengers were taken to hospitals.
The plane landed as scheduled in Auckland late on Monday afternoon. She was actually supposed to fly on to Santiago de Chile in the evening. However, the flight was initially canceled and postponed to Tuesday.
It is another in a series of incidents involving Boeing aircraft. In January there was an incident involving a virtually new Boeing 737-8 Max Alaska Airlines’ fuselage fragment broke out shortly after takeoff. The more than 170 people on board were largely shocked. As it became known over the weekend, the US Department of Justice is now investigating the case.
