Kim Kalicki has won the world title in two-man bobsleigh for the first time. After the last two World Championship silver medals, the woman from Wiesbaden prevailed in St. Moritz with brakewoman Leonie Fiebig from Winterberg. In light snowfall, the duo was five hundredths of a second ahead of Lisa Buckwitz from BSR Thüringen and Kira Lipperheide from Gladbeck.

“I’m really happy, thanks to Leo for the great start times,” said Kalicki on ARD. Third place went to monobob Olympic champion Kaillie Humphries from the USA. Junior World Champion Maureen Zimmer from BSC Sachsen Oberbärenburg finished sixth with Lauryn Siebert from Winterberg.

For two-man bobsleigh Olympic champion Laura Nolte, the fight for the title ended prematurely after the third run. The woman from Winterberg fell with Neele Schuten, the brake from Gladbeck, as before in the final training session. She drove out of the “Horse-Shoe” curve too early, then got too much pressure and fell again in the same place.

“Yesterday there was a safety line, now we wanted to attack. I wanted to do a bit more, then the steering reacted more than I thought, then it just fell over,” said Nolte, who became world champion in monobob for the first time last week .
