Actor Bob Saget died in January after suffering a head injury. Investigators have now reconstructed what is said to have happened on the night of his death.

On January 9th, actor Bob Saget was found dead in his hotel room in Orlando, Florida. The investigation revealed that the 65-year-old died as a result of a head injury. According to the autopsy report, he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and multiple fractures of the skull. “Authorities determined that Bob died from head trauma. They concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head, thought nothing of it and fell asleep. There were no drugs or alcohol involved,” shared Saget’s family in a statement.

The US magazine “People” now quotes investigators who have reconstructed more precisely what is said to have happened on the night of Saget’s death. Accordingly, the comedian entered his hotel room at around two in the morning, put up a “do not disturb” sign and locked the door from the inside.

Investigators believe Saget lost consciousness in the bathroom, fell backwards onto the marble floor and hit his head. No traces of blood or hair were found on either the sink or the bathtub, making it unlikely Saget could have injured himself there.

According to police, Bob Saget regained consciousness on the bathroom floor and then stumbled onto the bed. As he lay there, he passed out again and died. The time of his death was later given as four in the morning. Saget was only found twelve hours later, around 4 p.m. local time.

“It’s definitely an unusual case. There are still a lot of unanswered questions,” an Orange County, California, investigator told People magazine. It is not yet clear why Saget fainted several times. In addition to the severe head injuries, the autopsy also revealed an infection with Covid-19. The authorities’ investigations are ongoing.

Bob Saget was buried in Los Angeles five days after his death. Among others, his former “Full House” colleagues John Stamos and Dave Coulier as well as musician John Mayer appeared at the funeral service. Saget is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and three daughters from his first marriage.
