Blocked by the barriers of a level crossing, a woman is hit by a TER

This Tuesday in Lesquin (Nord) around 10:20 a.m., a woman was hit by a TER train which linked Lille to Valenciennes. The shock was extremely violent, causing the death of the 72-year-old driver. The vehicle of the septuagenarian would have been blocked by the barriers of the level crossing located rue Faidherbe, according to what indicated a police source to our colleagues fromNews Lille.

TER traffic between Lille and Valenciennes was severely disrupted following this accident; some trains had to change their route, which lengthened their travel time. Between 100 and 150 passengers were on the train that hit the car. All were taken care of by SNCF agents and then repatriated by bus.
