Blizzard: Fans can try Diablo 4 again before launch

Blizzard announced another beta phase before the Diablo 4 launch at a developer talk. The so-called server slam takes place from May 12th to May 14th. The developers are again inviting all fans to test the game over the weekend. The reason is simple: the stability of the servers should be checked – an important criticism of the last two beta versions.

The server slam will integrate the same game elements that existed in the two beta phases. Fans can play through the entire first story act and choose from the five classes. However, leveling is limited to a maximum of level 20 here, while it went up to level 25 in the beta.

Diablo 4 with balancing patch

Otherwise, characters can still collect loot and explore dungeons – now with the adjusted drop rate for legendary items, as it should be at release. So players can prepare for less strong loot. It is also likely that the previous balance patches will also be tested with the server slam. Barbarian and Druid are then much stronger, while the Necromancer no longer seems quite as overpowering.

If the Diablo 4 Open Beta is still installed, players can continue to use it and install the Server Slam update. Alternatively, the download will be available for PC, Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5 from May 10, 2023. The characters from the beta will not be carried over to the server slam. So new heroes have to be created to bring them up to level 20.

There are once again special rewards for this, which should then be integrated into the final game as cosmetic items and titles.
